DrAdaezeC. Ayuk obtained her undergraduate medical education at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus in May 2000 but her interest in respiratory medicine dates back to 1989 when she did aposting as a medical student at the Respiratory firm of the St. Thomas Hospital (Guys and St Thomas) London under the supervision of DrNigel Bateman. She wastrained in spirometry as an honorary research fellow at the Queen Mary University/Barts and the London Hospital, where she worked closely with Prof Jonathan Grigg. She is a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical college of Nigeria - Faculty of Pediatrics. She trained as a sub specialist registrar in pulmonology in 2011 at theRed Cross Children Hospital University of Cape Town South Africaas a fellow of the African Pediatric Fellowship programme (APFP) under the tutorship ofProf Heather Zar and Prof Max Klein (of blessed memory).Adaeze has been involved in several researches within her locality in which she has served both as co and principal investigator. She won the 2011 American Thoracic Society (ATS) small grant award to carry out a study on spirometric reference range in children in South east Nigeria. She has also won the prestigious young investigators award at the Conference of International Pediatric Pulmonologist (CIPP)conference in Bangkok Thailand in July 2012. She currently works as a consultant pediatrician in the pulmonology firm of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu Nigeria and as a Senior lecturer in the College of medicine of the same university.
